Renaissance  Home Connect

Students in grades 2nd-6th participate in the Accelerated Reader program, which allows students to take reading comprehension quizzes based on books that they have read.  Teachers promote this program in various ways by setting goals and giving out rewards.  PPES has a recognition board displayed in the hallway near the cafeteria for Accelerated Reader.  Every nine weeks, students are recognized on the board if they have earned a certain amount of points and kept their average up to an 80.  Accelerated Reader has a special feature called Renaissance Home Connect, which allows the student and parent to access outside of school from any computer with an Internet Connection.  Renaissance Home Connect is fun and easy to use.  It allows the parent and student to view information about the student's progress in Accelerated Reader.  Parents can also enter their email to get updates on when their child takes a quiz and how well they did.  Renaissance Home Connect is located on our school web page under the Student Corner tab at the top of the screen.  The username and password will be the same one that the student uses at school for Accelerated Reader.

Hello Families!

Our school would love for you to collect Box Tops and send them to your child’s classroom.  Each Box Top clipping is worth 10 cents, and those can add up quickly when we ALL turn them in! Be sure to tell grandparents, family, friends, community organizations, and churches!

 If each student brings in 15-20 box tops per month…we will meet our goal of $4,000! We can duct tape Mr. Steagall to the wall if we raise $4,000!

We will have a competition each 9 weeks! Our first competition is between the K-2 hall and 3-6 hall! The winning hall will be able to participate in a fun football toss competition!

Box Tops can be found on lots of packages...everything from school supplies to taco shells!  You can find them on hundreds of products from brands like these:
