The Wadesboro Police Department has identified the person responsible for yesterday's school lockdown. WPD was able to confirm that the threats were made with no intentions of being carried out. The defendant is a juvenile therefore no details will be released as to their identity. Juvenile petitions will be filed by WPD charging the offender with North Carolina General Statute 14-277.6. Communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property. This offense is a class H felony.
